Sentry® offers the best fire protection in the business. In fact we invented fire-resistant storage containers more than 80 years ago. Our Safe can withstand temperatures ranging from 1,150F to 1,850F (843 C to 1010 C).

Underwriters Laboratory(UL) is an internationally-recognized independent testing firm. UL test are independent tests of Sentry® FireSafe products. For a product to earn a UL classification, the documents/items stored inside must remain completely undamage after being subjected to 1/2 hr (1550F / 843C), 1hour (1700F / 927 C) or 2 hours (1850F / 1010C) of fire exposure.

Only products with the Underwriters Laboratory(UL) mark have been tested to withstand these stringent conditions.

Different strength UL test are required for paper, media and sensitive material storage. These test, on top of the security that already comes with the Sentry®Safe brand name, provide the ultimate insurance that your possessions are safe from harm while inside a Sentry®Safe product.

Sentry®Safe products also undergo ETL Semko testing. ETL Semko is also an internationally-recognize independent testing firm headquartered in the UK which verifies products are in compliance with the manufacturer's specification for fire endurance.

Every single fire-rated Sentry®Safe product is certified by either UL, Intertek or RISE, which makes them the best in the business.

The remaining safes with fire protection claims have been rigorously tested by and are certified by the manufacturer to meet international standards.

Fire-rated safes are issued fire protection ratings; what do these mean?

½ HR, 1 HR and 2 HR fire ratings indicate how long the internal temperature of the safe stays at 350oF or below during a real fire situation. At this temperature, paper and valuables remain undamaged by heat and fire.

Certain Sentry®Safe products are certified for added fire protection for digital media, which means that in a real fire, the inside of the safe remains even cooler to protect sensitive data.

In addition, certain products are also ETL Verified to withstand a 15 foot/4.5 meter drop during a fire, and stay closed. This is especially important for safes that are located on an upper floor; floorboards may collapse during a fire, and the safe may fall to the ground as a result.

All our fire-rated safes come with a Lifetime After Fire Replacement Guarantee. Zenorex Marketing Corporation will replace any safe that that is damaged by fire that still belongs to the original owner.

Water can cause severe damage to valuables and important documents. All Sentry®Safe products that offer water protection have the ETL mark issued by Intertek as being either waterproof when submerged for up to 72 hours, or water-resistant up to 24 hours in 8 inches of water. This is proven protection that you can rely on.

The Sentry®Safe ETL verified waterproof guarantee ensures that items you place in your Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® Waterproof chest or file will remain dry even through extreme exposure to water. Our waterproof products are tested by being completely submerged for an hour in water that goes up to two inches above the uppermost surface of the chest or file. The product passes the test only if no more than 8 drops of water enter the safe!

Sentry®Safe Fire-Safe® Advanced Business (e.g. OA3817, OA5835) and Home/Office Safes Model (e.g. SFW123CSB, SFW123DTB, SFW123GTC) are classified as water-resistant. This means products have withstood 15 minutes of 1,000 gallons of water spray as well as 24 hour of standing in 8 inches of water with no damage to products inside the safe! (Refer to owner’s manual for specific models)

Lock Type

We offer different types of lock that each offer different levels of security, each with its own unique set of advantages.

{{-- SECOND TAB --}}
{{-- SECOND TAB CONTENT --}}
A key lock offers fundamental security, and can simply be opened by a key. Security levels depend on the type of key; types of keys are flat keys, tubular keys, dimple keys, 4-bitted keys, 6-lever and 8-lever keys. Different types of keys offer varying degrees of security.

A mechanical combination lock uses the reliable tumbler technology that has been the standard for over a hundred years.

{{-- --}} PROS
{{-- --}} Long-lasting if well-maintained
{{-- --}} Cheaper than electronic lock
{{-- --}} CONS
{{-- --}} More involved to open (dial has to be turned a certain way)
{{-- --}} Only one combination available
{{-- --}} Typically, combination cannot be changed, except on select models (e.g. changeable combination type locks)
Electronic locks are activated by the current supplied by batteries. The lock is typically opened by a code that is input into a keypad.

{{-- --}} PROS
{{-- --}} Easy, quick access
{{-- --}} Typically can store multiple access codes
{{-- --}} Versatile: can have added functionality like time delay, alarms, lock disable – see specific model features
{{-- --}} Some locks can be configured as a dual lock (dual mode where 2 different codes must be input to open the safe) for better security
{{-- --}} Many safes have an internal light, which gets its power from the batteries used to power the unit
{{-- --}} CONS
{{-- --}} More expensive than mechanical combination lock
{{-- --}} Needs batteries, which must be changed periodically
A biometric lock functions like an electronic lock, except biometric input must be supplied to open the lock. Typically this biometric input is a fingerprint.

{{-- --}} PROS
{{-- --}} Easy, quick access
{{-- --}} All models can store multiple fingerprints
{{-- --}} Typically can store multiple fingerprints and multiple codes
{{-- --}} No need to remember combinations or codes
{{-- --}} Some locks can be configured as a dual lock (dual mode where 2 codes or 2 fingerprints or 1 code + 1 fingerprint must be input to open the safe) for better security
{{-- --}} Same advantages as an electronic lock
{{-- --}} CONS
{{-- --}} More expensive than both mechanical combination and electronic locks
{{-- --}} Needs batteries, which must be changed periodically
{{-- --}} Fingerprints must be saved properly
{{-- --}} Positioning the finger on the fingerprint reader must be correctly done
Dual locks offer increased security since they can only be opened using 2 different modes of opening a lock. An example of a dual lock uses a dial combination plus a key to open the safe; the combination must be input AND the key lock must be turned to the open position. Another example would be an electronic lock or biometric lock that has been set to dual mode.

PROS
Increased security
Can choose to give access to only 1 person (for example, give both combination and key to 1 person) or to require 2 persons to be able to access the safe (for example, give combination to person 1 and key to person 2)
{{-- --}} CONS
{{-- --}} Can be cumbersome to open the safe, especially if accessing the safes requires 2 different people
